Dayak Ethnic Groups of The Tumbang Malahoi Village

Tumbang Malahoi is a Dayak village located four hours from Palangkaraya city. There is no public transportation reaching this village. The only option is you must hire a private car. Another way is going by motorcycle. But it is too risky due to the very rare local Kampong. We hope, as soon as possible, the Tumbang Malahoi will be easy to access by public transportation. Thus, it does not cost much to get there. According to our experiences when we got there recently. The Tumbang Malahoi is one of the old villages in Central Kalimantan, especially when we looked at the Long House. It was built a hundred years ago with ironwood and the local community. The road trip goes to Tumbang Malahoi by private car for approximately 4 hours. You will arrive by noon at Tumbang Malahoi Village. The Dayak ethnic group will welcome you with a Tampung Tawar. It is a traditional way to welcome the guest. After the short ceremony of Tampung Tawar, you may explore the village with our guide while the other crew prepares the night meals. During the Dinner, you can discuss the Longhouse, The Dayak tradition, etc. Feel at home.

Day 2: Tumbang Malahoi Village Full Day

Wake up in the Morning, Breakfast ala Indonesian is prepared. Then, explore the Surrounding Dayak village, which includes a soft trek to see the local people doing the farming. And you can enjoy the atmosphere of the village. Lunchtime is back to the Dayak Longhouse. Then have a Lunch ala Indonesian, rest, and you can be involved with the villagers. When you arrive in Palangka Raya, direct transfer to Tjilik Riwut airport. The tour ends. And thank you for your visit.
