This includes Banda Aceh, Medan, Palembang, Padang, Bengkulu, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Jambi, Bandar Lampung, Riau archipelago, and Pangkal Pinang. Each of these islands has the best thing to see and do. For example, North Sumatra with the capital is Medan. This town is famous for Orangutan conservation located in Bukit Lawang and Tangkahan. (Kalimantan is a good place to see the Orangutans too). Also, Lampung is the best place to eyewitness the Elephant at Way Kambas. Another hand, Bandar Lampung is nearer to Mount Krakatau volcano. Because It is bordered by the Sunda strait between Lampung and Jakarta.

Palembang is between Lampung & Medan. And Palembang is well known for the Musi river and in the old days, South Sumatra had a big kingdom, called Srivijaya. So, if you visit this city, you will see many activities using the river such as a local boat, etc. Also, the historical bridge is called Ampera. At night look more awesome around the bridge, Hence, there are many food stalls along the river banks. You must try the local cuisine of Palembang. Another place that you don’t want to miss, you must visit Pangkal Pinang or Belitung island. Because it takes not too long a flight to reach this city from Jakarta. Belitung offers a nice white sand beach with many stones along the beach. Therefore, the big stone is the identity of Belitung Island.
